Before you begin
  • A verified company identity and relationship context
  • Contacts that are authorized to be linked to the company
  • An agreed owner and relationship type where applicable

Contacts and companies answer different questions

A contact represents a person and their communication permissions. A company represents the account-level relationship: ownership, lifecycle, tier, industry, territory, stakeholders, open pipeline, and next move. Link people to the company they currently represent; do not duplicate the company name as a substitute for a company record.

  1. Open Contacts → Companies and search by name and domain.
  2. If a matching company exists, open it and confirm its website, legal name, location, and active stakeholders.
  3. If none exists, choose New company and enter the minimum verified identity fields.
  4. Set the account owner, lifecycle, tier, territory, source, timezone, and currency only when your team uses those fields operationally.
  5. Add or link contacts, then identify relationship roles such as champion or decision maker where the evidence supports them.
  6. Record the next move and review open pipeline value from the company command center.

Run the company workspace

Use search and filters to find accounts by owner, lifecycle, momentum, industry, location, or action state. Saved company views are useful for stable operating queues such as “Strategic accounts needing attention.” Bulk assignment and lifecycle updates are appropriate only after the selected rows have been reviewed.

Merge or archive safely

If two company records represent the same organization, choose the record that should survive, inspect the target, and merge from the Companies workspace. A company that belongs to a company group must be removed from that group before merging. WRKZY records the merge and offers recovery for 30 days.

Archive an inactive company to remove it from active views while retaining its relationship history. Restore it if the account becomes active again. Permanent deletion is a separate destructive action and should be reserved for authorized cleanup after retention requirements are satisfied.

Verify the relationship

  1. Open the company and check account owner, lifecycle, key relationship, stakeholders, open pipeline, and next move.
  2. Open at least one linked contact and confirm the company appears correctly in Contact 360.
  3. Check that deals and quotes belong to the intended account and currency context.
  4. After a merge, verify the surviving company contains the expected contacts and commercial records.
Company record is actionable
  • Duplicate name and domain search completed
  • Account owner and lifecycle are current
  • Stakeholder roles are evidence-based
  • Open pipeline and next move are understandable
  • Archive or merge was used instead of destructive deletion
